Our Story

From Pain to Purpose: A Story of Struggle, Survival, and Something Greater

I grew up in a world that expected me to be tough — to hide the hurt, silence the fear, and survive without complaining. Poverty, fatherlessness, trauma — these weren’t just words, they were my reality.

By the time I was a teenager, I had already seen the weight of mental illness in my family and felt the quiet pull of depression in my own life.I wore strength like a shield. I became the protector. The athlete. The officer. The one who looked like he had it all together. But inside, I was still that little boy — trying to breathe under the pressure, trying to heal in a world that never gave me the language for my pain.

It wasn’t until I hit rock bottom that I realized: healing was possible. And that healing didn’t make me weak — it made me whole. Now, I use my story to help others rewrite theirs. Through Concrete Growth Theory, the Concrete Blooms workbook series, and a platform built for truth-telling, I walk alongside people — especially Black and Brown men and women — as they confront their trauma, rediscover their worth, and reclaim their voice. This movement was born out of my own survival.

Out of the concrete, something beautiful grew. And I’m here to tell you — you can bloom too. This ain’t just therapy. It’s resurrection. It’s redemption. It’s real.
